It isn't.

Hrmmm,
I get some fun responses from inews when I try to feed it.
I built a simple test file.
----include-------
Path: news!not-for-mail
From:
Message-ID: <200305230948.AAA05475@domain>
Subject: test
Date: Fri, 23 May 2003 09:48:49 -0400 (EDT)
Newsgroups: project.test
Approved: cmefford@domain
NNTP-Posting-Host: news.domain
Organisation: (mail2news gateway)

test
---------------------------

And tried feeding it to inews
(as user news)
$ /usr/local/news/bin/inews < ~/testfile
Required "Subject" header is missing or empty.
$
Uhh, okay. Hmmm, so I tried
cat ~/testfile | /usr/local/news/bin/inews
same
So I tried
$cat ~/testfile /usr/local/news/bin/inews -h
Warning What server? -- Article will be spooled.
$
hmmm. Nothing in the spool,
logs say nothing

??

BUT, using the mozilla mail/news client (and
others) the news server seems to work
just fine.
