It doesn't mean that, it means exactly what it says about the ME entry.
The part before '/' is the default subscription list, what you send if
you don't explicitly do otherwise. The part after the '/' is a list of
what you will accept.

The documentation is good, but it doesn't help if you read it and assume
it can't mean what it says. It does.

That is correct.
