I believe that using Sun's Disk Suite in later versions of Solaris 8
you can go well beyond this limit of 8 partitions ... basically
you make one large physical partition and then break it up
in to many virtual/logical partitions. Disk Suite has been bundled
with Solaris at least since verison 8 and possibly some time before.
