readers.conf configuration help

Hi, I am trying to setup some local newsgroups for a redhat 9 
installation.  The problem i'm having is that nnrp says "you have no 
permission to talk. goodbye."  I've tried several different 
configurations with no success, can anyone tell me what I need in my 
readers.conf to make it work?
