ovdb_monitor dies...

Last couple of ovdb hangs it looks like ovdb_monitor has silently 
exited.  No core files, no log messages, nothing.  But when I look, innd is 
stuck in an lwp_cond_wait, ovdb_server is running, but no ovdb_monitor... 
I'm at a loss to track it, given the lack of footprints.
