can't resolve hostnames from NT domain.....: msg#00508

Subject: can't resolve hostnames from NT domain.....
Hello,

I am newbie in Linux world and I am stucked because of one problem. I need help
with my bind 9.2xx.

The case is something like this:

I have one test "area".. (19x.xx.xxxxx) which is not attached to the "real
world"
I have one NT (win2000) domain.. (Domain controler, DNS, Exchange.....) and
there is my RH 7.3 host with BIND 9.2xxx.
So I would like to have two separate domains. NT and Linux.

DNS on NT domain is "x.y.z.18" and on Linux is "x.y.z.111" At the moment there
is only one Linux machine. (The one on witch BIND is.)
Gateway is irrelevant in this case i think. Because there is no internet
connection. Netmask is the same.

Problem is that I can't resolve my Linux hostname from NT domain. So ... this
is probably something with /etc/named.conf file. Right?
I can ping from Linux doman and I can resolve the name to. But from NT I can
only ping. Witch has nothing to do with DNS.

A friend of mine suggested that I should check "querying" in named.conf. But I
can't anything strange there.

I would really need some help.

Thanx,

Tomaz
