TCP Listeners Dying: msg#00539

Subject: TCP Listeners Dying
We were having connection refused errors showing up for our zone transfers
from a secondary name server to its' slaves. (errors showing up on slave
machines)

Doing an lsof showed that we weren't listening on all the relevant TCP
ports:
TCP localhost:53 (LISTEN)
UDP localhost:53 (IDLE)
TCP machineName.hme0:53 (LISTEN) (not running)
UDP machineName.hme0:53 (IDLE)
TCP machineName.hme1:53 (LISTEN) (not running)
UDP machineName.hme1:53 (IDLE)

Restarting named brought back up the Listeners that were missing. Has
anyone else had problems with the listeners dying off? We haven't had this
problem in the past, just since upgrading from BIND9.2.0 to BIND9.2.1.
(Solaris 8 x86)

Thanks,
Leila.
