DNS problem....

Hi all

I wanted to send mail from my firewall and I realized that I could
not. Soon I relized that this was a DNS problem.
When I try to dig on the dns adress I get:
Couldn't find
server 'mydnsadress' : Name or service not known 

But the thing is that all the computers on the net, relying on the
firewall are capable to use that dns.

I even thought that this could be a iptables problem, but I dont see
any packets dropped related to this issue and I can also telnet to my
dns on port 53....


so why cant it resolv anyway.

plz help me out....
