*** From dhcp-server -- To unsubscribe, see the end of this message. *** DHCPD 3.0 has more functionalities than the version 2.0 but it requires= more CPU resources. We have tested both lasted version with the following configuation: - Compaq Desktop, PIII 1 Ghz 256kb cache, 512 MB RAM. - Mandrake Linux 9.0 - Lasted version of DHCPd 3.0 & 2.0 - Client range: 10.0.0.3 10.0.255.255 We used our DHCP client generator tool as mentioned in previous message= to stress test the dhcpd. And here is the result of DHCPD 3.0 Clt : Clients Clt Interpack Offer ACK Discover /s Allocation/s 1000 5000 688 662 52 31 1000 8000 886 867 34 30 1000 10000 999 995 25 25 1000 11000 1000 1000 18 18 DHCPD 3.0 used a lot of CPU resrouce: 80-90% compare to 10% with versio= n 2.0 DHCPD run faster with lower client range but CPU usage still above 50%.= Anyone know how to solve this problem ?
