OK Emmadiva

Thanks for the hero thing haha. A few suggestions.

1. check that the file you downloaded (the torrent) ends with ".torrent" as its
file extension (just single click on the name below the file to highlight it
and check. (However chances are it should be, your worries about the torrent
not having downloaded properly due to the length of download time are common.
But the average torrent file is rarely any larger than 250kb so this is
probably not the problem)

2. When it gives you the window to choose which program opens files with
.torrent extensions, after right clicking/control clicking the torrent file and
choosing "open with" and "other" (the one where it will not let you highlight
BT for OSX 3.1 make sure that the top pull down menu "show" is not set to
"recommended applications" but instead to "All Aplications", this should allow
you to highlight the BT program. Then just put a tick in the "always open with"
box before clicking the "open" button.

3. If the torrent file is downloaded from Donkax.com then it won't work at the
moment as the tracker is down as discussed previously in this group. HOWEVER it
should still let you go through the download process (just your upload and
download rate will stay at zero) but it means that when the site is up again
your preferences will already be set and you should have no further problems.

Good luck and if this still does not help then maybe you can email me at

Hi Jarod!

You're my hero! Thank you for the quick link to a software download and the
detailed instructions. However, I've hit a snag. I don't think I've
installed the
software correctly.

I downloaded it to my desktop. A disk copy icon appeared. I double clicked
on it and a white software disk appeared on my desktop. I opened that to
find
a bittorrent icon and a readme file.

Now -- I've tried all different ways to get the program to work with a
bittorrent
file I downloaded. I followed your detailed instructions to use the "get
info"
window but when I choose an applictation -- the bitttorrent icon will not
highlight.

I've tried placing the bittorent white softwared icon into my applications
folder.
I've tried just placing it in my hard drive
I've tried dragging the bittorent icon out of the white software icon into my
applications folder.
I've also tried dragging it just inside my hard drive as well as just leaving
it on
my desktop.

None of those options has allowed the icon to be highlighted from the 'get
info' window.

Even if I open the bittorent icon and try to open the downloaded from from
the
menu screen 'open bittorent file' -- It doesn't recognize it.

Help -- I'm not certain what I'm doing wrong but obviously it's something.

One other piece of information. The bittorrent file that I downloaded to
test the
bittorrent program with, downloaded in less than a minute -- Could I may have
not downloaded the program?

I would really appreciate any help you can give me. I'm desperate to get
this
running. I'm a complete download spaz. Thank you so very much for
everything you've done so far!!!!

desktop.Either right click it (if you have a two button mouse or control
click it if
you use a one button mouse) and choose "get info". From the new pop up
window choose the pull down "open with" and choose the bittorrent program
you downloaded and installed a few steps back.
