It's just a thought but maybe you need to do port
forwarding on the modem so it will let stuff on
whatever port something might come in on pass through
to whatever port you specify. For example the web
comes in on port 80 or 81 ( I know it's one of those
two ) so it's already open since you can browse the
web when you get online. However something like FTP
(which typically uses port 21) most likely isn't set
to forward that port to your computer. I think if you
do a Google search on port forwarding, you should turn
up some info on how to do it. I don't know offhand
what port(s) are used by Bittorrent. Good luck. Hope
