Re: Newbie -- Help with downloading for MAC: msg#00186network.bit-torrent.general
Hi Emmadiva It is really a lot simpler than that. Just go to http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/bittorrent/BitTorrent_OSX_3.1.dmg and click any of the download sites listed there. Install that single piece of software onto your mac. Now download one of the BT files and save it to your desktop.Either right click it (if you have a two button mouse or control click it if you use a one button mouse) and choose "get info". From the new pop up window choose the pull down "open with" and choose the bittorrent program you downloaded and installed a few steps back. Now simply double click on the bittorent movie or whatever file and choose safe to desktop and you are done. In future because you have set BITTORRENT as the default program to open BT files with you won't need to do this again. Simply save the file from the website to your desktop and double click on it. Let me know if this helps, Jarod ----- Original Message ----- From: emmadiva2002 To: BitTorrent@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Tuesday, March 25, 2003 3:50 AM Subject: [BitTorrent] Newbie -- Help with downloading for MAC Hi! I'm very new in and inexperienced with this. I'm dying to start downloading but I can't seem to figure it out. Everytime I think I have -- Some something goes wrong. From what I can figure out - I need python to download on my MAC OSX.2.4 system. So I downloaded. python -- Then I downloaded wxpython and the pythoncard prototype. Here's my question. In the installation instructions for the python card it says this, "Open the Terminal application and do a cd to that directory and then run the setup.py script using the 2.3a1 Python you just installed." Yikes -- Was that in english?! What's the terminal application? How do a do a cd to that directory? What's a cd? How do I use the 2.3a1 I just installed. Okay -- I'm pretty lame when it comes to computers. I'd be willing to even pay someone who can help set me up/walk me through it so that I can start downloading. Help -- Please... Yahoo!
