Current BT extensions?: msg#00138network.bit-torrent.general
In the 2 months I've been subscribed to this list, occasionally I've learned about some BitTorrent 'mod'. Of course, this is the nature of open-source software; people will take the code and make their own versions with additional features. But is anyone keeping track of all those mods? It seems to me there's a ton of little improvements made here and there, but they only results in alternate builds. Imagine how better BT would be if those mods had been integrated into the original software instead of dispersed among different people. It seems to me BT is a bit lacking when it comes to the biggest strength of open source; many people contributing to one project, not each going in his own direction.
