Sample size is very small, but interesting
nevertheless. Thanks and kudos to Yuri for your work
on the Seti client.
Since the enhanced client for windows has been out, my
2GHZ Dell laptop in WinXP has been taking about 28-30
hours to process a WU. That is about double what the
old client took, and the credits accrued are double to
triple what the old client was getting.
The new OS/2 client is almost 50% finsied with its
first WU and on this 400Mhz Celeron it will finish in
roughly 13 hours, or about 1/3 less time than the OS/2
client took to process a WU under the old Seti client
(old client took 15-18 hours for most WUs).
One interesting sidelight is that the Windoze client
now has TWO WUs in process. For some unknown reasson,
it paused a WU at 4:26Am just after downloading a new
WU and uploading results from a WU completed
overnight. It then started working on a new WU and is
now about 1/3 finished with that one. WIll be
interstting to see if it then goes BACK to the
previous WU when it finishes this one.
