Because of changes in the output of the new BOINC client software, the code in
BOINC_MONITOR.CMD needed to be changed.
Without the new BOINC_MONITOR, the detection of an exit in the new Boinc client
is broken. This new code should work with new or old Boinc software.
As time goes by other changes may be needed. The three main functions of
BOINC_MONITOR, as you may recall, are:
1) Simultaneous routing of STDOUT message from the BOINC client to both the
screen and a log file.
2) Detection of certain problems (e.g. repeated "may need to be reset"
messages) with a corresponding stop and restart of the Boinc client.
3) Detection of the exit of the Boinc client with a corresponding exit of
BOINC_MONITOR.
If you notice that this new BOINC_MONITOR is not working as it used to work,
please let me know. (and sent me copies of the messages from the Boinc client
to which BOINC_MONITOR fails to respond.
