Audiobulb News :: June 2005 Dissecting Disastratos :: + Splendid magazine dissects track 2 on the EP - Disastrato's on Disastrato's latest release: "Desirez Rien (After a Rice Kick" is the real draw -- it's an actual new track from Disastrato himself. It's about half the previous track's length, but has far more intriguing (and coherent) ideas. As it opens, the sounds of heavy industry -- typewriters, chains, bars -- clang violently, then stop abruptly. A haunting passage follows: a choir repeats a depressive melody over the sound of heavy rain. A woman coughs and cries softly in the background, her choked sobs occasionally breaking through into the foreground of this disturbing, occasionally frightening composition. Try spinning it in the car while it's raining to get the full effect. Taken together, the two songs provide an interesting look into Disastrato's work.... it would make a perfect soundtrack to a David Lynch short film." + Other reviews of Dissecting Disastratos: + ANGRYAPE: http://www.angryape.com/reviews/2005/02/disastrato-dissecting-disatratos + STATIC BEATS: http://www.staticbeats.com/reviews.php?id=58 + Purchase the download here :: http://www.emusic.com/album/10852/10852347.html + June 18th Manchester :: The Font, New Wakefield Street, Nr Oxford Station, ManchesterSTFU05 Features electronic artists from around the world including Calika, Ochre & Autistici. http://www.redshiftmedia.com/temp/stfu_webflyer/ + Running order = 2.00 - bla 2.30 - unknown forces 3.15 - bsr 4.00 - autistici 4.45 - mookid 5.30 - special brew 1.2 6.15 - nq 7.00 - deer 7.45 - zanf 8.30 - mormo 9.15 - calika 10.15 - phasic 11.15 - ochre 12.15 - quip 01.15 - soft + Audiobulb are featured in the 'Made in Sheffield' section of Exposed - (June 05). http://www.exposedmagazine.co.uk/Press + 'Sandman' feature an interview with D Newman - (June 05). http://www.sandmanmagazine.co.uk/ + Excellent online record store Boomkat now stock Audiobulb :: http://www.boomkat.com/item.cfm?id=16845Boomkat + Switches & Intricate Maximals available now at the Audiobulb Shop :: http://www.audiobulb.com/ab-shop.htm + Audiobulb are on eMusic :: http://www.emusic.com/label/105/105031.htmlDigital Downloads + Thanks to all the KVR crew who have been giving this instrument a go. The consensus is that it makes amazing sounds at the cost of immense CPU drainage. Many artists are sampling it's output and using the resultant audio in their tracks :::: check out the thread :::: http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1162389#1162389SOPHIA VSTi Tiny details preserved in sound....
