Yeah it was really great. I do have to say that I enjoyed the openers
more than I thought I would, and Autechre themselves a little less than
I thought I would, but it all averages out. I got there pretty
early...too early really. For some reason I thought the sets would be
shorter and Ae would go on earlier. So when I first got there the place
was a bit empty, but Rob Hall really did play some great acidy electro
and breakbeat so I didn't get too bored. The place filled up quickly
around 11, and snd played some seriously wild stuff. Autechre's beats
are pretty incredible, and the set had a good rhythm to it unlike some
of their recent releases, but I wish they would incorporate a little
more melody again. By the end of three hours of pure drum-machine
assault from snd and Ae, I was pretty ready for it to be done. Still, I
had a good time overall, and if I had come a little later I probably
wouldn't have gotten so burned out at the end. I definitely second the
recommendation to check it out if they come through your town.
(Never saw you, Shimone, but the place was pretty packed)

wow. that was hands down the BEST idm show i've ever
been to if not the best show of ANY genre. god that
was amazing. the venue was packed with people. hot as
hell, dancing, condensation dripping from the ceiling
shoulder to shoulder from front to back.
i arrived just as SND got up. i thought they were very
good. i really enjoyed the beats (the set primarily
consisted of danceable kick drums) and there was just
enough melody (or dsp as it were) to keep the set
interesting. no fluidity between songs whatsoever
unfortunately - just a whole lot of noise. i think the
sound system at mezzanine really worked in their favor
however.
rob hall by the way is an outstanding DJ. he played
some fantastic music. first show ive been to where the
warmup/between acts DJ was just as good as the
performers themselves. idm at the beginning of the
night, electro/breaks/idm(?) at the end.
so there you have it. autchre in sf. an absolutely
mindblowing set. highly HIGHLY recommended if they
come to your area!
