Subject: Remote streaming with AACPlus

Hello,

I am new to this forum. I have a Squeezebox 1 and am using SlimServer
6.5 on Windows XP. I am trying to accomplish the following:

I have a Palm Treo 680 with an unlimited data package. I have read that
the newest version of Pocket Tunes 4.0 Deluxe has the ability to stream
AACPlus audio. I want to be able to stream from Slimserver to my Treo
in AACPlus. In other words, I want the ability to transcode from FLAC,
OGG, MP3, etc from my home collection into AACPlus 48kbps. From all
that I read, AACPlus will sound better at low bitrates than does MP3.
Has anyone done this (i.e. stream music in AACPlus at a specific
bitrate)? After looking at some of the files of SlimServer, it appears
that I might be able to do it if I could find an AACPlus command line
encoder that supported standard in. Does such a program exist?

Thanks for any help anyone can give. I could move the Slimserver
installation over to a Linux box if that would give me more options.
