The Mysterious Case of the Invisible Tag: msg#00268music.equipment.slimdevices.ripping
I am ripping CDs to FLAC using EAC with "Autoflac" as a front-end. I then tweak the tags (e.g. changing Genre from alt.rock to Alternative) using Mp3tag. I then rescan in Slimserver, specifying "Clear library and rescan everything." When it has finished rebuilding, I look in the Genre list, and my album appears BOTH under "Alternative" AND under "alt.rock" I have tried looking at my files with Mp3tag, Tag&Rename and Abander TagControl and I can't see "alt.rock" as a field value anywhere. So where is it? How do I see/edit ALL the Genre tags in a .flac file, rather than just the single one that each of these utilities pulls up? Is this something to do with a VOBIS/ID3 conflict? How do I know, and how do I do something about it?
