Re: BAND Tag & Sorting: msg#00175music.equipment.slimdevices.ripping
Is BAND a valid tag with a special slim server interpretation?? These fields exist in the contributors table. `name` `namesort` `namesearch` `customsearch` `moodlogic_id` `moodlogic_mixable` `musicbrainz_id` `musicmagic_mixable` I suppose that possibly ARTIST maps to namesearch ARTISTSORT to namesort BAND to customsearch????? You'd have to try it out and have a look. Or perhaps someone who knows can answer. I have already ripped most of my cds with just a single artist and no separate artist sort tags. namesearch and namesort are identical and customsearch is empty in my db. Note that there is no customsort field. As I also have 1000+ cds I am not real keen to go through all the cd covers and type in the extra bits. I'd love to have all the musicians in the artist tag. For jazz that would be very handy. But I'll wait till it is more commonly done. I wonder what the moodlogic and musicbrainz fields are for.
