Re: BAND Tag & Sorting: msg#00171music.equipment.slimdevices.ripping
Well, right now I'm sorting within the same tag with a ";". So, the relationship between ARTIST and ARTISTSORT, I just have to make sure that they're listed in the same order. That all works fine. (For the record, I'm ripping my 1000 CD collection, so, as I rip, I pull from FreeDB and change whatever is necessary before the rip). I'm just wondering about how I am to format the BAND tag, for those albums where you might have a guest on one track of someone else's album. Obviously I don't want it considered a "various artists" disc. So, by using BAND as an ALBUM ARTIST tag, I look to get away from the VA thing. What I need to know is, should I be formatting the BAND tag as if I'm sorting the artist, or displaying.
