jrivermedia flac questions

After looking at the various programs/possible ways to rip cd's to flac,
i settled on jriver media center as the easiest and most straight
forward.  obviously not straight forward enough though as I'm still
having issues. I got the program set up to rip in flac (installed
plugin, changed preferences)... It appears to rip fine, but for
whatever reason it won't show up in my jriver mc library, even if i
import the whole computer.  The files are there in MyMusic, but don't
seem to want to show up in the jrmc even though that's where the rip
was done.  this makes no sense to me.  I've been through the various
option menus and the one that asks you to indicate all the types of
files jrmc should read/recognize includes a zillion ,but not flac.  I
guess I figured installing the flac plugin would have addressed this?? 
I'm figuring this is me since wiki indicates how easy this program is to
use....HELP PLEASE!!! This is already shaping up to be atedious
project...can we say add 3rd megachanger?? :)
