Re: Playing AC3/DTS tracks sourced from DVD: msg#00336music.equipment.slimdevices.ripping
I've come across an ac3 file I'm having trouble converting from Rammstein's Live Aus Berlin DVD. I tried the --persevere option, but no dice. The file plays fine in foobar2000. Any idea what the problem is? Do you think that is preserved through the process, > or am I possibly playing 48/16 tracks? Is there a way to tell? > I believe most DVD-A discs contain 2 or 3 copies of the album - an MLP 96/24 version, a DTS version, and/or an AC3 version (for playback on non-DVDA players). As you ripped the DTS version, the tracks are most likely 48/16. Ripping the MLP tracks is difficult due to DVD-A's copy protection, and requires a particular version of WinDVD along with some 3rd party tools. See the 'wikipedia article' (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DVD-A#Copy_protection) for more info. -- fraganator ------------------------------------------------------------------------ fraganator's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=5707 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=19260 |
