FLAC Compression Setting Impact: msg#00325music.equipment.slimdevices.ripping
I'm a new user that is gearing up to rip my collection to disk. I am trying to figure out the implications of the various compression settings in FLAC when it comes to replaying the files... I higher the number the smaller the file that is created (I think), but what are the implications for slimserver and SB when I go to replay them? my sb3 and transporter are on a wireless G network. Can anyone shed some light on what problems I might run into if I opt for level 10 compression vs level 5? I've not done any testing but i assume that level 10 will result in much longer file creation times when compared to level 5. -- Limping_Pylon ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Limping_Pylon's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=8086 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=31037 |
