I don't agree that it has in any way locked me into the SS model. Quite the reverse: my files are in FLAC, cleanly tagged in a way that makes sense to me. If I ever want to switch to a different system that required different tags names to work properly, I am confident that I would be able to tell mp3tag to do a batch convert to move things around. If I couldn't use FLAC, I would be able to re-encode to a different lossless format. I've got into the habit now of using several tags (eg Conductor, Composer, Band, Performer) that SS uses very poorly indeed, but I can get the information out on the screen and thats ok for now. I use the Custom Scan and MusicInfoSCR plugins - I've played with CustomBrowse but its not yet part of my normal usage.
