Ripping to NAS in lossless WMA over network getting errors: msg#00297music.equipment.slimdevices.ripping
I figured since my NAS will server as reader why can't it be written to as well. I'm using a XP laptop wired on 10/100 LinkSys router. I ripped from my desktop also wired and tracks would be missing. And often end up in unknown artist (with partial tracks). Sometimes I'd see a drive write failure on the server. So I moved the USB drive to the desktop and no errors. I'm ripping with Windows Media Player 11. With Error Correction on. I should have my SB3 tomorrow. But do I have network problems or it is common to have rip write errors these days. I know many years ago you would never do this. But I thought todays tools and drives were stable enough (i.e. buffered enough) to handle this. I've never seen a error on network coying files, printing etc. Thanks for advice. P.S. Any good free tools to test robustness of the network? -- mswlogo ------------------------------------------------------------------------ mswlogo's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=9090 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=30975 |
