I know this. There is some question in audio circles about whether
Apple Lossless is truly lossless. I want format that Slimserver
supports and that guarantees that the orginal CD integrity is retained.
Anyway, I believe I'm now aware of all the info and possibilities.

Ps The only reason for the explanation in the last post is to point out
the fact that there may be multiple factors in the choice of an audio
format and what appear to be straightforward solutions to one person
may present unexpected problems in other scenerios.

AIFF is uncompressed, very similar to WAV. Some googling tells me that iTunes may support id3 tagging of AIFF, so that's one small difference. I think I've read your logic for using WAV instead of FLAC. Whatever. Not my problem. Keep in mind that for use on a battery powered iPod, uncompressed audio (AIFF) will burn battery power faster than files using lossless compression (ALAC) which will burn battery power faster than files using lossy compression (AAC or MP3). If dBpowerAMP can't transcode and do the filename to tag conversion at the same time, then you're left with the other choice. Get a good tagging program and tag the files after you've transcoded them. -- JJZolx Jim ------------------------------------------------------------------------ JJZolx's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=25333
