Thanks Joel,

I got a hold of the guy I bought the GR from and he found the manual. Looks
like I'll be doing some coding soon. :) Ah well, not the first time. I had
to write a patch editor for my Digitech RP2000 too.

Hi:

The GR-50 patch layout is in the back of the owner's manual. I wrote a
"GR-50 patch
viewer" in MS-Excel that reads sysex files and lists the patch parameters.
You can
use that spreadsheet to see the entire data format. I have one for the GR-1
as well.

If I remember correctly, midi data is 7 bit and follows the MAC byte order
format,
which helps to decode the data..

I think there was a GR-50 module for the big patch editor program whose name
escapes
me. I remember the price clearly, $249.
