I've seen the 505 referred to as a Tele copy - I thought it was a strat
clone, too *shrugs* I don't know my electric guitars too well. But the
505 uses single-coil pickups, and the EMG is an active humbucking
pickup, and works very nicely. Admittedly I'd probably have preferred an
unmodified guitar, but I'm happy with it.

From "Roland Bass and Guitar Synths"

"The G202 was a unique blend of a Fender type body with pickguard and
dual humbucking pickups. This was a favorite of Jeff "Skunk" Baxter.
The G303 was a double cutaway glue on neck that was remarkably similar
to playing a Gibson Les Paul.
The G505 was a copy of a Fender telecaster with three single coil
pickups.
The G808 was this same basic design as the G303 with a neck through
body."

How much do you want for the GM70, btw? And does anyone on the list want
a Korg Z3 if I replace it with a GM70?

Also - just on the offchance - I'll be on the lookout for a GR33b in the
not-too-distant future if I get on with the G77. Apparently the bass
guitars are electronically identical.
