Re: Non-realtime conversion: msg#00220music.equipment.midi-guitar
I tested a VST plugin by Mr. Dragan Petrovich (a fellow contryman of mine!) which generates midi notes out of audio. If you record each string on separate channel, you have the same as a "guitar to midi" converter" - for 49.95 USD! In my test-recording I found Dragan´s "Pitch to midi" too sensitive (ghost notes were generated) but it is easy to put a gate in front of it in an enviroment as Cubase, Nuendo or similar audio-midi application. So much i know, the current version works only on Macs with Cubase 5 or newer. It works in realtime and in playback mode. Check it out: http://www.macmusic.org/softs/share.php/lang/EN/id/8/ There´s a lot of other interesting stuff for Macs and music on: http://www.macmusic.org I´ve read about similar software for Windoze, but don´t remember where I saw it.
