Subject: Re: Need help with my Casio PG-3XX's

Hello Fauruk@xxxxxxx

The coil(s) for the low E string may need to be re-wound. It's not like a
conventional pickup, for each pole has it's own coil (and tiny too). Each
string has two pole pieces, thus two coils per string. You'd have to take an
ohm meter to each of the coil's solder points within the pickup ('m assuming
you've peeked inside already??). Look for a resistance reading of about 218
ohms for each coil. If it's reading zero the coil is broken within the
winding. Be extremely careful cause those wires are hair fine, and if you
break it at the solder point or above you may just ruin what was a perfectly
good winding. How do I know all this? I've fixed my hex pickup on my MG-510
(G string had a bad coil). It was a Bi*ch! Got it to work though and still
have wire left over for another repair.
