Gages of string with RMC pick-up

Did some one experimented different gage of strings with
RMC pick-up.

I just bougth a GODIN LGX-SA... love it! Before I was using an IBANEZ
FMTK equiped with GK=2 pick-up. The response then was much better with
heavy gage of strings (49-11). Should I do the same with my LGX-SA?

I would like to have some opinions on that.

Also, is the kind of string influence the synth tracking?
If so, what is the best brand of string for this application?
