Non-realtime conversion: msg#00181music.equipment.midi-guitar
I've searched the messages on this board looking for an answer, so I apologize if this has been answered elsewhere... I just picked-up an RMC Fanout Box for the purpose of recording each string to its own Pro Tools track. I would like to be able to use *either* a plug-in or stand-alone software (Mac or PC, doesn't matter) to -- after-the-fact -- convert these monophonic audio files to MIDI. In other words, I don't need real-time pitch-to-MIDI conversion. And, since each string is being recorded to its own track, obviously even chords played on the hexaphonic guitar will produce monophonic files; therefore, this isn't a challenge from a DSP point-of-view. I have asked Richard McClish of RMC Pickups for his recommendation on software to accomplish this task and he recommended that I ask the experts in this forum for their advice. Has anyone here done this before? Does anyone have suggestions about how this can be done, or what software package(s) already offer this functionality?
