Camera that supports capture are pretty rare....
So your camera probably doesn't support that feature.

I just bought a Panasonic DMC-LX1 and discovered that it gets detected by
gphoto2 as Panasonic DMC-FZ20. I am able to download the images but when I
do

gphoto2 --capture-image

I get

*** Error ***
Sorry, your camera does not support generic capture
ERROR: Could not capture.
*** Error (-6: 'Unsupported operation') ***


Does it mean that it is just not possible to capture an image or that it is
possible in principle but not yet supported? If so, would someone here be
willing to help me change this?
