I have libgphoto running on an Arm processor right now... Works like a
charm!

When you say "microcontroller" are you talking about something like an ARM
or something like a PIC?  The answer is yes to the former, but if you manage
the latter, you'll probably get yourself a front-page story on Slashdot.
