Deprecating print-usb-usermap, print-udev-rules: msg#00004

Subject: Deprecating print-usb-usermap, print-udev-rules

Hi list, hi Frederic,

I've seen that the Debian libgphoto2 package adds a

libgphoto2-VERSION/packaging/linux-hotplug/print-udev-rules.c

program to create /etc/udev/libgphoto2.rules.

I have now integrated _four_ output formats into a single program

libgphoto2-VERSION/packaging/generic/print-camera-list.c

with less than _double_ the number of lines in the source file.

BTW, if someone has a better idea for the name and install
location (/usr/lib/libgphoto2) of that program, let me know.

The four output formats print-camera-list supports are these:

1. human readable (taken from tests/test-camera-list)
2. linux-hotplug usb.usermap (taken from print-usb-usermap)
3. HAL FDI (taken from print-usb-usermap)
4. udev rules (taken from print-udev-rules)

Please consider print-usb-usermap and print-udev-rules as
deprecated when packaging the next (pre-)release of libgphoto2 which
will probably include print-camera-list.

Thank you.

Gruß,

Uli
