OK, thanks, but for the record, this setup worked fine before
including auto detect. I made no changes and AFAIK, the system had no
changes.

I will reinstall the USB drivers. Is there a recommended cable /
driver setup to use with BitPim? I don't want to bother reinstalling
the drivers for every transfer. Thanks.
