The one in the kit Verizon sells for the VX-6000 -- labeled LG-USB7000 on
the back of the black box with the USB and phone cables attached -- has
three grooves on the bottom of the phone connector.  The box also has a
connector (same as the phone, with an elastomer plug) on the side.

Interesting, but I have only the one model phone and the appropriate cable
for it, so I'm not worried.  The cable doesn't appear to charge the phone,
but then USB specification conforming devices are only allowed to draw a
limited amount of power from the USB bus, and charging a 950 mAH (standard)
or 1400 mAH (extended) battery would take quite a long time at the available
USB power levels, so it's hard to tell (and bitpim doesn't provide any
information about battery charge level or charge/discharge rate).

Incidentally, LG's web site has zero information on USB cables; their
"connectivity" accessories section (buried on their web site under support)
mentions USB, but they list only 9-pin serial cables.
