I attempted to merge my Outlook contact info into the phone book, clean it up, then upload it to my phone. BitPIM properly connected to Outlook, imported the contacts, and presented me with the expected merge manager where you can control how the new and changed data is stored. So far so good.
However, I have an existing entry for Jay Walker, and a to-be-imported entry for Erica Walker. BitPIM defaults to merging these two records. By right-clicking on any of the fields, I am presented with the option to match the imported entry to a different existing record, or to create a new entry based on the imported information. When I click the radio button to make a new entry, both radio buttons stay selected, BitPIM hangs with 99% CPU utilization, and I have to end task to stop BitPIM.
I searched through the user archives for the word "hang", but didn't see anything similar. Any ideas what might be going on? Since the program hangs, I can't "look" at anything to see what is going on. Also, there are no entries in any of the system logs. I've experienced this behavior with both the 7.33 and 7.34 releases.
BTW....Thanks to all who contributed to this program. It's an excellent program and is greatly appreciated!!
