Re: VX6100 GetITNow Games: msg#00115mobile.bitpim.user
Is there anyway to backup my games that I've purchased on my phone? You need to ask Verizon. I'd be quite interested in what their answer is. Note that they do have a log of everything you have paid for. You can in fact delete the app off the phone and download it again later. (There is a small control file for each downloaded app and that will have recorded that you paid for it. The control file is not deleted when you delete the app.) And if you lose the phone altogether, you won't be able to restore games to another one. The apps are digitally signed and tied to individual phones now. Quite frankly I am amazed that anyone pays for them. And I don't mean stealing them instead. I just mean that I haven't seen any that I would use even if they were free. If there was enough customer pressure, VZW would have to adopt something else like J2ME and then anybody could provide software for the phones. The whole GIN/BREW thing is specifically setup to ensure you can only go through the carrier to get content and that you must pay them. I couldn't provide free content even if I wanted to.
