RE: BitPim & VX3200 Observations: msg#00095mobile.bitpim.user
Interesting. I can add a /brew/shared directory, upload a .bmp file, delete the /download/dloadindex/brewImageIndex.map file and reboot the phone. The phone will rebuild the .map file and the image file that I uploaded will be listed in it. The problem is that I cannont access this image anywhere in the phone's Menu system that I have been able to figure out yet. [This is all reported in other cellphone forums.] I checked and the brew/shared directory IS in my $USER_DIRS file. Presumably it was put there during the reboot. How exactly can you access your uploaded images in your phone's menu system? [I just looked at the details for the LG-VX3200 at alltel.com. This is indeed an enhanced version of the phone I own. The Verizon version has no ability to do any web/games or other advanced features. I will update BitPim docs so they are specific to the Verizon version. Sorry I cannot update the BitPim operational details - don't have the Alltel phone!] > Actually I have the LG VX3200 thru Alltel, but since they never carry > any accessories I had to go to Verizon to get the data cable.
