That would be a no on the blue light and
yes on a box in the middle. From what I’ve read on the net you need the
box in the middle. Future Dial now makes a cable specifically for the VX3200
and that would be their #49 cable. Check it out on futuredial.com. Or if you
have a Verizon Wireless store near you give them a call, they should have the
kit for the VX3200.

& VX3200 Observations
Anubis,
May I ask you a question -- does the cable that came with the mobile office kit
have a blue light when you plug the cable into USB port? Does it have a small
box in middle of cable?
My cable does not have a box in middle just plain black cable and one end that
is USB end have a blue light that comes on when you plug it inot USB cable. I
have LG VX3200 phone too.

Using Bitpim 0.7.34 for Windows. The cable is from
the Verizon Mobile Office Kit.
Ok, Bitpim will connect to my phone, read the phone
book properly however doesn’t read the wallpaper or ringtones correctly.
First of all, I’m not exactly sure what Bitpim is looking at for
wallpaper and ringtones. If I had to guess for the Wallpaper, Bitpim is looking
at /download/wallpaper.bit. However, it’s doesn’t display the image
and gives me an error saying, No handler found for image type. So primarily right
now I use Bitpim simply to access the file sytem. Here’s what is on my
phone and currently working on my phone.
In:
/user/sound/ringer
I’ve got 4 midi files I downloaded off the net.
All 4 files work properly on the phone, including the volume level. But for some
reason Bitpim doesn’t register the ringtone. I couldn’t tell where
Bitpim is looking for the ringtones.
/brew/shared
This is where I’ve been putting my wallpapers,
or proper term I guess would be my user images. I know that the wallpaper.bit
file uses some odd file format with regards to the 565 bits and the special
header and so forth. I guess my question is why bother with wallpaper.bit file
at all. So far I’ve been able to use jpg, true 24bit bitmaps and those
altered bitmaps as my user images. It seems the only limitation is that you
can’t capitalize the first character of the image files. Whenever I did,
the names displayed but the images would not. The images display properly and
the phone converts the image over to wallpaper.bit should you set it as a
wallpaper thru the menu system. One thing I do notice is that when viewing the
user images or Graphics as the phone calls it, jpg images while they display
properly take a second to load. The plus side is that the files are smaller,
usually a third of the size of the 32k bitmaps.
If I could program it myself I would, so my input
would be to drop working with the wallpaper.bit file. And set it up to allow
bitpim to upload properly sized jpg and bitmaps to the brew/shared folder
instead. Then the user can simply go to the Graphics folder in the Wallpaper
section on the phone and set their wallpaper(s). Note: gifs and animated
gifs may work, have yet to try them. As for why the ringtones don’t work
properly on my Bitpim, no idea on that one, but I can upload them just fine
thru the file system.
Also noticed the call log is disabled for importing
on the VX3200. I’m sure you guys probably already know it, that the dat
files for the call log are in the /pim folder. I guess it’s just a matter
of time for parsing the file for use in bitpim.
So if all this has been said before or you dev folks
already know it then no harm no foul. Kepp up the great work on bitpim.
