Haven't seen either of these subjects discussed on
the forum, so assuming they haven't, here are a couple of "wishes" for upcoming
releases:
(1) Add the ability to print calendar data,
preferably with the ability to specify the time period (i.e. week[s], month[s],
etc.) and print format (i.e. calendar-style with entries "wrapped" up to
character limit, or chronological list style by date and
time). Some "bonus" features: (a) display a
miniature of the preceding and following months in the upper corners; (b)
permit users to print a blank monthly calendar; and (c) bold or highlight
federal holidays and start/end of daylight savings time. I've actually
written spreadsheet formulas (in Quattro Pro/Win) for the holidays and daylight
savings dates, though these may not help much without the associated spreadsheet
program.
(2) Add Windows-style open, copy, and cut commands
to the wallpaper section of BitPIM, so that photos downloaded from the phone can
be more easily opened with standard Windows picture viewing and editing
software (the logical default in Windows XP would be the Windows Picture &
Fax Viewer included as part of Windows XP), and cut or copied to other folders
in the user's computer system for safe-keeping.
Although I'm not a programmer, it would seem
that the "open, copy and cut" commands could be easily added using standard
Windows APIs, while the calendar printing might require a little more work,
perhaps with the help of existing open-source code that might be found
elsewhere.
Is anyone there up to these tasks?
