editing each time. I already wrote a program that takes my addressbook and
extracts what I want out of it to create a CSV file for importing into bitpim.
I can't import speed dial numbers currently, so I would have to redo them
every time. Can you add that as an import field?
It is low priority. Ultimately I want to use vCards as the format with
the most information. Let me ponder this one.
Also, sorry if this is in the docs, but what's the difference between Category
and Categories, and how do they relate to Groups on the VX6000 phone?
They are the same thing as groups on the 6000. Category is a single
category. Categories is a semi-colon delimited list of category
(which is how Outlook likes to export them).
The 6000 only supports one group per entry so BitPim takes the
first.

Can I import speed dial numbers?
My goal is to derive all of the information I can from my Zaurus so I can
programmatically move the data from there to everything else without hand
editing each time. I already wrote a program that takes my addressbook and
extracts what I want out of it to create a CSV file for importing into bitpim.

Thanks and keep up the excellent work.

Good News for MacOS - Samsung a670 Users
The developers of BitPim, in their latest release: version 0.7.16 ( http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/bitpim/JAGUAR-bitpim-0.7.16.dmg.gz?download or http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/bitpim/PANTHER-bitpim-0.7.16.dmg.gz?download ) have taken a giant step in providing support for the Samsung a670 phone.
Though not officially a supported phone, they have fixed a communication issue in this release that allows you to browse the a670 filesystem as an "Other CDMA phone" using the /dev/cu.usbmodem port. I was able to download several pictures from my phone to my iBook. Though not intuitively obvious you can save the image files to your Mac by CTRL-clicking on them in the filesystem listing. I have written some scripts that will batch process these raw image files, extracting the timestamp from the extra header and removing the header in front of the jpg file and renaming the file [timestamp].jpg (If there is interest I can make these scripts available.)
The program is a bit temperamental when copying the images. I was not able to copy more than two in a row without crashing BitPim or getting an exception. But it is a start and BitPim is multi-platform and potentially a much better program than what I have seen Gagin to be. Thanks developers!
