Re: Voluntter with good soldering skills wanted: msg#00212misc.nslu2.linux
A little off-topic, but I used the mobile phone data cable method (as per the wiki), and it worked very well. Only three points need to be soldered, and they are very large. I have poor vision and my soldering skills are bad enough to be considered humorous by some-- but I had no trouble at all. I recommend this method of getting serial port access. --- In nslu2-linux-hHKSG33TihhbjbujkaE4pw@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, Rod Whitby <list.yahoo@xxxx> wrote: > One of our community members has donated USD$150 for the purpose of > setting Lennnert up with a serial-enhanced slug. > > We need a volunteer in the US who is willing to take cash via paypal, > buy a slug from amazon (or somewhere cheaper), buy a serial kit from > CompSys, solder a serial port on the slug and attach the serial kit to > it, then ship the lot off to Lennert in Europe. > > Who can do this for us?
