Re: Initial IXP_NPE kernel committed: msg#00036misc.nslu2.devel
Why remove RS5C372? AFAIK, it's used by DS101 and N2100, possibly more Because the kernel as patched does not support the DS101 or N2100? Can always be added later. evdev can't be loaded as a module if we want the buzzer to work on Didn't realise this - there should be a dependency in the kernel set surely? I'll compile it in. Netwinder FPE emulation replaced with FastFPEAre you sure that's a good enough replacement? Remember that the slugs Kernel config quote: Say Y here to include the FAST floating point emulator in the kernel. This is an experimental much faster emulator which now also has full precision for the mantissa. It does not support any exceptions. It is very simple, and approximately 3-6 times faster than NWFPE. It should be sufficient for most programs. It may be not suitable for scientific calculations, but you have to check this for yourself. I think it's worth testing as a speed up and as it reduces kernel size. I doubt there are many people doing calculations requiring high floating point accuracy on a device without a floating point unit. Modularize SCSI/IDE/USB. All devices boot from flash and load the Sorting this now. Michael-Luke
