Re: complex eigenvalue vs transient analysis: msg#00203mathematics.abaqus.user
Hi Abd. Rahim, Try to use element type C3D20R which more accurate than C3D8. I have done parameter study showed that element C3D8 gives low accurace compared with C3D20R. Good Luck Ibrahim "Abd. I am also interested to simulate squeal using dynamic transient analysis. In order to compare the two methods, I run an example of deformable block sliding on the deformable base which is rigidly constraints at the bottom. The block is sliding at certain velocity. For the complex eigenvalue analysis, I used first order brick/solid element i.e.C3D8 while C3D8R for explicit(transient analysis). Unfortunately, the results I got from the two analyses is not well correlated. I assumed that results from the complex eigenvalue more reliable than the transient analysis. Does anyone know how to improve it? What are the criteria to get more accurate results in the transient analysis? Thanks Rahim ===== ABD.
