For me, it means "if you wanna capture 3D deformations of the
structure, it is better to see it as a 3D continuum than as a shell."
I especially think about the through-the-thickness behavior...
Each time you see in the Abaqus manuals "not recommended", you have
to wonder what they have really wanted to say...
