How to Tie User Elements with Available ABAQUS element

DEar All,
I am trying to constrain the User define element with
the abaqus elements. But if i tie the two surfaces
(i.e. of the user element and abaqus element), i get
the message that User elements cannot be used to
define a surface.
Anyone having some insight how can i connect the two
elements. So that they behave as a single entity.
