Joint between two parts - Are they constraint to any DOF?

Hi,
 
If an assembly of frame is drawn in part mode, then my question is whether the 
joint between each trusses are constraint to any DOF? For example the schematic 
of hoist in ABAQUS 6.4 manual on page 2-11 shows similar problem I am trying to 
solve.
